Industrial design is driven by innovation and human-oriented design concept, an important support for national innovation-driven development strategy, the key to lead China to create and achieve manufacturing power, and the core competitiveness of future industries. Industrial design achieves business success and provides a higher quality of life through innovative products, systems, services and experiences. Founded in 1996, this major is a cross-integration design discipline of electromechanical information science and technology and aesthetic art. This major enrolls master's degree graduate student.
This major focuses on electromechanical products and electronic information products as the design object, comprehensive use of mechanical, electrical, ergonomics, product morphology, aesthetics, material technology and other disciplines knowledge, to study the product "man-machine-environment" coordination relationship and design rules based on the industrial and information conditions, to achieve industrial products functional design, modeling design and engineering design. The design direction of this major is: 1. Industrial design of electronic information and electromechanical products (such as electronic equipment, electromechanical equipment, wearable equipment, service robot, etc.); 2. Interactive design for intelligent products; 3. Cultural and creative product design.
This major aims to cultivate a wide caliber, thick foundation, with innovative thinking methods of industrial design, international advanced design ideas, strong design practice ability, fine craftsman spirit, engaged in industrial products, especially electromechanical products and electronic information productsof scientific research, design, manufacturing, technology development and management of "research and development" and "engineering applied" first-class industrial design personnel. Industrial designer & structural designer is the basic specification of this major.
After graduation, the students of this major have a wide range of employment. Most of them are engaged in design, research and development, management and other work in multinational companies and national key enterprises and institutions in key cities, municipalities directly under the Central Government and provincial capitals, with an employment rate of over 97%. In recent years, the number of graduate students by recommendation and examination in industrial design, machinery, electronic information, management and other disciplines has reached 36% to 42%, and some students have gone abroad to study in the United States, Germany, Britain, Japan, Finland.
Main courses include Machine drawing, engineering mechanics, machine design, electrical and electronic circuits, computer-aided industrial design, modeling foundation, three-dimensional composition and model making, ergonomics, modeling materials and technology, visual communication design, industrial product design, structure design for electronic equipment, wearable equipment design, robot technology, APP development and interface design for smart phone.
